| Hello taggers! Ther: Oh my u should have come! Evonne saw it and i think she enjoyed it. And thanks ther! Z:I still dunno who u are. Naughty fella. Dwidarma is called dwidarma because firstly, we put up 2 plays, and dwidarma is intended to tell people that there are 2 plays (dwidrama). And also, it means dual responsibilities, because both plays involve characters having to deal with dual responsibilities, like the Pegawai's responsibility towards his community and then towards his family. In Mayat, the responsibility is between doing the right thing and saving oneself from the mess. So i hope Dwidarma makes you happy... so?: thanks so much for coming yesterday! hope you had fun... :) Thanks so much to all the cast and supporting crew for making Dwidarma a success. Though it wasn't a sellout, nevertheless, I think everyone who came saw and learnt something. Do I hear encore? |

whooosh swooosh
| We lost the semis to MJ by a single goal that came like 5 mins from time. Oh well. So sad rite? So disappointing. Actually noone would have thought we could make it this far. I myself wouldn't have imagined that we could even reach the semis. Most of the teachers and our own schoolmates have always put us down, never treating us seriously, and always hoping that our season would end quickly so that we can quickly improve on our grades. Noone raelly cares anyway. I feel quite happy to disprove others. Like Terence, my rugby friends who's in OCS now, he was really quite shocked to hear soccer reached semis this year. We've lost the semis, but there is still hope. For the future I hope. Yes. The J1s must ensure that our run tis year is not a fluke. Ahhhhhh...tmr 3rd 4th place. |

Quarter finals: Our group consisted of NJC, SAJC and TPJC. All matches were played at SA.
First match: RJC 3-1 NJC
First match of the second round, so clearly we were excited. But we felt confident of our own ability. It was a difficult match because of the weather interruptions. A good 15 min spell in the first half saw us score all our 3 goals. First was a WeiFan clearance that went straight into NJ's penalty box. Chang Wen was first to react and he scored a wonderful placement to the far corner for his first goal. Then, a Geoffrey through pass down the middle was picked up by Chang Wen who flicked it to Pei Qian. He scored a simple nice goal into the empty net. Then the third was almost a carbon copy of the second. Another Geoffrey ball to the left was picked up by Damian who slid in time to guide the ball into the gaping net. 3-0, a comfortable position none of us imagined we could reach. Then suddenly NJ woke up and a slip up at our right flank saw a sharp cross that eluded everyone but the lurking striker at the far post who shot straight into the top corner. 3-1 and we won our first match in our group (a feat which we never achieved before). SA beat TPJC 3-0 in the other match. I never got to play this match.
Second match: RJC 1-2 SAJC
SA came into the game with a huge reputation for having been a finalist the year before and never conceding a goal in this yr's tournament. This was the first match I start (really unexpected). We found it hard to string passes together because our midfield had to sit deep as their attack was very penetrative. They scored a goal through a corner, when Kaixiang should have collected the ball instead of punching it. Peiqian couldn't mark the No.21 outside the box, who powered a header past the helpless Kaixiang. After halftime, we came back really strong. It was then that we scored. Chang Wen beat a few defenders down the left and passed to Peiqian who turned and shot low and hard. It was 1-1 and game on. However, we just had to give away a free kick in front of our box. No.11 was a real clinical finisher, he planted the ball exquisitely beyond Kaixiang. 2-1 and there was not much time left. NJ beat TPJC (can't remember the score) and so, we were third in the group.
Third match: RJC 6-2 TPJC
We knew destiny was in our hands, as long as we beat TP, we would qualify. We just pinpointed Alfie, TP's No.10, who's a national striker, and marked him as much as possible out of the game. This was I think one of our best matches together. Within 2 minutes, an Adzfar 'corner throw' found PeiQian, who turned and shot into the top corner. 1-0. Then we failed to clear a corner properly and No.10 scored. 1-1. But we were relaxed. Chang Wen scored and after that Damian also scored. 3-1. Peiqian's knee gave way and I came on for him. Within a few minutes, Geoffrey's through ball found Chang Wen who squared it for me. My first time shot was scuffed at the keeper's legs, but I shoulder charged him enough to get the ball back and fired home. 4-1.
Second half was when it became more open because TP just threw in the towel. A superb interplay of passing released Damian down the left and he crossed for Chang Wen to whack the ball home for his third goal of the season. It was not done yet. Another Adzfar 'corner throw' found myself decoying for Chang wen to flick to Geoffrey who volleyed home spectacurly. No.10 Alfie scored a wonderous consolation for TP. But we didn't really care, because for the first time we amassed 6 points in a group, and scored more goals than we could imagine. Then, in an ironic twist, NJC beat SAJC 3-1 to qualify at the expense of SA. And we qualified as group winners.
The semi finals line up are:
VJC vs NJC
RJC vs MJC
Soccer A' Div 2005
| Soccer 'A' Division 2005 I was never originally in soccer. I was in rugby. There was this time around late March last year when I had to make a decision to choose between rugby and soccer, coz the school doesn't allow people to do 2 sports. I chose rugby and the team won gold. After that season, I just wanted something new, and soccer in a schools nationals tournament is something I never tried before. So I switched and this is how the story goes. The team went to India last yr but I didn't follow because they booked it in advance, before I made the switch. For a whole month during the holidays I didnt train, but immediately when they came back, we had a friendly with SA, when our ass got whooped 5-1. Played a series of friendly matches thereafter. Intensive training this year culminated in the Malaysia trip, when we played against top club sides. Came back and then it's season time. First Round. Our group consisted of VJ, CJ and MI. All matches were played at VJ. First match: RJC 0-4 VJC In the first 15mins or so, we showed we were on par against the defending champions. We matched them tackle for tackle, ball for ball. We even had a few long shots that were narrowly off. There was one contentious offside decision, when they scored. And hit us again shortly after. We came charging in the second half, only for them to score again with a contentious goal (Ref disallowed goal at first for foul on our keeper Kaixiang.) Then they hit us with one more. Opening match gave me a real acid test. First time ever playing in Soccer ADiv. It was still alright, because we showed a good performance still and we knew we were still in it, despite MI winning 2-0 in the other match. Second match: RJC 4-2 CJC This was a match we knew we had to win, because we knew we were stronger. What happened was we didn't expect CJC to be so spirited and playing so well. We scored first, when a Joseph cross was deflected into CJC's own net by their captain. Leading 1-0, we were stunned by CJC's determination. They quickly pulled a goal back thru a major defensive lapse down our left. Joel got cut and deflected a CJ cross into goal. Again I started the match from the bench. Then, we knew we had to up our game in the second half. But what happened was just after I got subbed in for Chun Yat I think, Ashley from CJC scored a goal because our defence couldn't clear the ball far enough. Then really it was die-die must score. Geoffrey won the ball in our half and cleared well into their half, I ran for it and slotted away from the 'keeper. Equaliser, what a relief. Then, Soo Tet was taking on two defenders on the left. He cut inside and chipped over the defence. I followed thru and chipped over the on-rushing keeper, who collided with his own last man. 3-2 and we are in the lead. There was a Zhi Hao through ball a few minutes later, for me down the left channel. It was one-on-one so I used the outside of my foot to place it to the far corner, only to see the ball bounce off the post. Could have been home and dry already, coz then CJC almost scored only for Kaixiang to deny them with a fine save. Then, Geoffrey managed to bring the ball into their zone and thread a through ball in between their defence. I pounced and placed it into the top corner. 4-2 and my hat-trick is complete. Still, coach wasn't satisfied because we let them play too much. But the result was good, it meant we erased MI's goal advantage, because MI also lost to VJC 4-0. This was my game of the season. Third match: RJC 0-0 MI This was a game which saw a marked improvement in our defence. We played really well and tried our best to contain their best player, No.12. There were some chances but missed. I picked up a yellow card the moment I stepped on the pitch, for what the ref said as a challenge from behind. I still don't understand. Anyway, the result meant that we go thru as group runner-up behind VJC. MI and CJC (CJ held VJ reserves to a 1-1 draw.) exit the competition. We qualified by the skin of our teeth because our goals scored is better than MI's by 2 goals. Come to think of it, it was due to the CJC game that got us through. Yup. :) |

new level
| Sometimes you do not expect that you are able to do something, because a lot of people also do not expect you to do it. When someone else tells you that actually you have the ability to do it, you may not believe him because you already know what people think of you. So you just keep what he tells you and just get on with the job. But suddenly while on the job, you are really achieving what you didn't expect, what other people won't expect except for that person who told you that you could do it. You reach an unfamiliar territory and you become vulnerable. You have reached a new level where you've never touched before, thus you feel slighly uncomfortable and maybe even funny. You may even reach complacency. It's time to wake up. It's time to earn that respect. It's time to book our place and stand our ground. Prove our mettle. This is the acid test. We know we can do it. We know they are really good. I hope we will be better. Stop the nonsense. We will do it. |

N-O-W
| NOW's a very important time where focus and prioritising become very important. where do we go from here? the journey has not ended yet. i'm at a crossroad. one, the MIQ team is doing well enough to be where we are at the moment. two, the soccer boys are still at it. but now is not the time to think about what we can do for the future? about what we could have done better... it's too early to start evaluating... it's about what we can do now, what we are doing now and what else we can do NOW. it's nothing but now. NOW we shall take all that we can and give our all and our best. because only NOW matters...nothing is WON NOW, yet. soccer and MIQ Quiz. here we go. we will. |

thru to 2nd round
Anyway, I am glad that our defence fought really hard for our last match against MI. Their performance that Thursday was really exceptional. Even the national youth team forwards of MI could not breach our defence. Their No.12 was a really tough player to shackle. He was very strong on the ball and constantly tried to penetrate us with his mazy dribbles. I think the whole team played well, except for me. I did not satisfy my role. Left too open a space for the opponent to run. And picked up an unnecessary yellow card. There was not a single troubling shot on goal, and we might have even lost it if the MI players upped their game even more. I should have played better.
There is only one week respite. From now on, there won't be any easy match. Each team is a strong team, and let's not forget that our team is not there to make up the numbers too. We have spent too much time, energy, money and effort to get so far, and we don't want to stop just yet. No not yet. God will be on our side.

swooshing~
It was sucha long day today even though its wednesday. Lessons ended early as usual, but it was endless activities after that. From interviews to videos to quiz...it was just non-stop. Need a really good night sleep.
Waiting to whack dinner..even though it's late already.
I wonder what the Muslim MPs will act towards this new call for the casino. By faith alone, it's Haram to gamble. I really wonder what happened during those minister meetings, i wonder whether there were heated arguments. Even though the casino is already approved, what will our Muslim ministers do? I already listened to this economic review from a Malay economist on radio that the casino is definitely good in terms of economy strictly. But there was no statement whatsoever from say, the Mufti... Oh man, it was just shameful to see a gambling statistic that around 12% of those who gamble are Malays. This 'gamble' includes, 4D, Toto, Singapore Pools S-League EPL and Champs League, etc. Even though it's not surprising to see that statistic, it's still shameful nonetheless. The casino will only add to that statistic. It's amazing to note that Vivian Balakrishnan and his MCYS are already hard at work on measures to combat gambling addiction, if there were to occur any in the future. Do you ever remember who the previous MCYS Minister was? Yes, Yaacob Ibrahim. Imagine, if it was him who was still in charge of MCYS. He would be the one who would be drawing up programmes to counter the risk of gambling addiction. How thoughtful of the PM!

HAT TRICK
| There was no spirit in our plight today. It was tragic right from the start. We seemed to have submerged ourselves under a huge pile of dirt. Or in the words of Mr Kadir, putting one foot in the grave already. We took a deserved lead because we were the better team, or so we thought. Then they equalised because everyone in their team fought for each other. Played the game like real hungry men. Us? We went to sleep, daydreamed, stoned... We were so flat at the back, the bench was really frustrated. That was how the first half ended, their team on a high... Second half began, and we really needed to pull up our socks. 10 minutes of scrappy play ensued, but most of the time, it was their team that really had the upper hand. Then we just failed to clear their loose ball, and we conceded yet another deflected goal! This was when some of us really thought that was it. The end. Haha but it was not meant to be. No way. We replied with 3 more. That was it. Yes most definitely... there will be more responsibility for each other, in our fight as MAN. i will do that. May be on a high today, but so sad karma wasn't there. |

| I find it very hard to sleep tonight, which is quite amusing, coz i just gulped down quite a lot of milk which should make me sleepy. I wonder why it's harder to fall asleep tonight, considering also that i've slept early the past few nights. Oh it was nice to meet up with old friends, people you hardly see nowadays because they are just at a different school. Fazly and Hari Shoran... Me and Adz. We were there at lido this afternoon to catch up on old times. It was more worth it than a movie, which was why me and adz happened to be at lido in the first place. It was not planned, this meeting of old friends, rather chanced upon. I think rafflesians should not just hang out or make friends with rafflesians only. That's just being narrow i think. Like the malay saying, "seperti katak di bawah tempurung." There's more to this life that you lead than just the people that you see in school everyday. People in other schools exist too and there is no reason why we should not make friends with them too! Haha, I think sometimes I am guilty of this myself, that I almost only spend time with friends who are either Rafflesians, or ex Rafflesians. Well, school just makes making friends easier, because within an enclosed space, you are more likely to bump more into the same people that eventually will make you want to talk to them and in the end, learn more about them (be friends wit them). SO outside, I guess you probably have to go out more, with different groups of people and sit anywhere and just talk if you happen to be in a situation where you can talk to other people. The mosque is a unique place for this, because last year, during Ramadhan, me and my buddies were overnighting at AlFalah (a mosque at Somerset). Before the morning prayers, we met with this group of Poly grads who are involved with a youth organisation, so we just chatted about activities that we do. In a way, we made new friends. I think that's what youths do at church too right? If you're feeling with me, go listen to McFly's "You've Got A Friend". ...time to pump tmr |

no i in team
| It's just one game in and a lot of our belief seems to have just evaporated into thin air. It's like POOF! Just like that. Well, i really pray that our team digs deep to know well and truly that all the time, effort, money and energy spent on all the different things are just too much for us to let go just like that. We should never forget that we are playing for each other, and only for each other. We are not pussy pushovers, we have shown teams that before, we can show them that again. We have nothing to lose, no expectations whatsoever. It's up to us to decide really, for that matter, we should take it with glee in our hearts, that we must expect to go all out and give our darndest best for ourselves and each other. For each other. I'll do that. |

<><>
-was it a bar or a bat i saw- haha you gotta read that backwards :)
sometimes, you feel happy because you get to do things there and then, and you feel quite good doing it because you don't have any inhibitions. i wonder how long being happy will really make you happy. and the truth is that, probably, you won't. being happy for too long will make you worried about certain things, and when there is any ground at all for you to doubt what you are doing (what you are doing is supposed to make you feel happy), then probably you begin to doubt that you are actually happy with yourself. so in the end, you become less happy than you were, and even though you are still happy, you are also unhappy at the same time. see, the point is there must be a balance in life, and life is full of opposites. that means that life is also full of the-sames (since life is full of opposites). so that also means that there must also not be a balance in life. just like there is a forward, there is a backward.
so what's in the middle? what's the in-between? what's the intermediate? a balance of the 2 extremes? an inbalance of the 2 extremes? i know and i don't know. just like and unlike you know and you don't know.

the lone
| I looked at Time Magazine and saw a tremendous photo of the massive destruction of the Tsunami-hit Aceh area, where every single building was destroyed except for one, the Mosque. To this I shall forever remember my religion, and that God always looks after us if we look after our religion. This proves one thing, that God is here. This is not the first picture that I saw of an aftermath of a natural disaster where the Mosque was the only building left standing (the other picture was of the earthquake-hit Turkey). I think there are a lot of signs that point towards the end of the world. Time is running short, so choose wisely boy.. Clocks by Coldplay Lights go out and I can't be saved Tides that I tried to swim against You've put me down upon my knees Oh I beg, I beg and plead Come out of things unsaid Shoot, an apple off my head. And the Trouble that cant be named The tiger's waiting to be tamed singin' You are You are Confusion never stops Closing walls and ticking clocks Gonna come back and take you home I could not stop but you now know, singin' Come out upon my seas, Curse missed opportunities Am I a part of the cure Or am I part of the disease, singin' You are, you are You are, you are You are, you are Nothing else compares. Oh, no nothing else compares Oh, no nothing else compares You are You are Home, home where I wanted to go Home, home where I wanted to go Home, home where I wanted to go Home, home where I wanted to go |

Daughters - John Mayer |
'twas Tuas
I love holidays especially when they are coming and I'm in full anticipation. I love it because I really get to catch up on sleep. Meaning I get to wake up at lunchtime. :) I love holidays because when I was young, there would definitely be family outings, to East Coast Park to cycle, to Sentosa to go on the monorail, to Marina South for kite flying, somewhere somehow, it was very nice. Holidays nowadays are very different. No more east coast, marina south, sentosa family outings. no more really. Right now, I'm the only one home, while my dad is in KL, my mum at the JB house, my sister and brother both out with their friends. Maybe I'm just a homebody.
But I've got to say something about my Tuas experience.
Last Monday, on the morning before Chemistry common test, I had told my mum that I was going to school. I had to cab to Tuas checkpoint to meet Mr Wong, the kind tour guide for our malaysia trip. He had promised to meet me there at 11am to deliver my spectacles for me. You see, the story is I had left my glasses in my hotel room. Because me adzfar and chang wen didn't know we had to pack everything up for the final match in KL. So we had only 5 mins to pack, we rushed to find all our stuff and forgot to check the room twice to make sure we didn't leave anything behind. Stupid, I had left my Silhouette glasses on the sink. It only occurred to me that I had left it behind in the bus, after the match, when we were well out of KL. Peiqian had wanted to watch the tele but had no glasses, so he wanted to borrow mine. I opened my specs casing only to find it empty. So i pleaded to the Tour Guide to help me find it. And so he did. Saturday night, he called me to arrange for the meeting on Monday, giving me his handphone no. and the location to meet (which was specific enough, saying to meet at the Bus Terminal, "the very last one"...) He said we was worried that the fragile specs would be damaged if he sent it by courier, so he'd rather send it personally, anyway he was with another tour group to Singapore. So on Monday morning, I quickly cabbed to Tuas Checkpoint, having a very nice chat with the taxi driver, who says he'd probably "drive until I die ah"... He immediately knows I was from raffles, and asked me whether I ponned school. Of course not, I told him I had exams and told him my missing specs story. Then he asked, wah, "exams still can go tour in the holidays ar?" I told him yeah can. Anyway, he dropped me off at the SBS Bus Terminal, which i thought isn't the right location because I thought that mR wong wanted to wait for me at the Bus checkpoint because he said "the very last one". So i walked about 200m to the checkpoint before being stopped by a "NO TRESPASSING" sign and a policeman. He told me to go away, this is not a waiting area, you must not wait here. I didn't know what to tell him so i just walked away to the BUs terminal. Then I waited, it was already 11am. I dont want Mr Wong to wait for me, after all his troubles. So i walked to the checkpoint again, and asked if he could accompany me to find Mr Wong at the checkpoint. I was getting desperate. I have chem exam in around 2 hours so i must retrieve my glasses quickly. The policeman really hates me. He was laughing as I stood in the hot sun trying to spot Mr wong. He asked me for bus number la, hp no which is i think the wrong number that mr wong gave me, all that. I didnt know. I waited and waited and then gave up. As i walk back to the bus terminal planning what i'm going to tell my parents (cos they still didnt know what happened to my silhouette glasses), i saw this fisherman walking in the opposite direction across the drain. "Eh Raffles boy, you lost ah?" and started sniggering. I told him No, I'm meeting someone. Then he asked again, But you must be lost here! I said no, I'm meeting a friend who's passing me my glasses. Then he laughed ang walked on. I was desperate. Then I saw this bus, and a stumpy man walked out. It was Mr wong. Haha, yes. He really brought back my silhouette glasses, and chang wen's PE set. hahaha. I felt damn bloody happy after that!

NOW
| Up til now, not one cca in school that I know of will have the team waking up at 6.15am for morning run, what more, with barely 3 hours of sleep the night before. Not one cca in school have so many inexperienced players before, players who have played the game before in sec schools. Ah guess what, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter anymore. Football is football. The trip up north to KL was really a different experience. The Now is more important. I'm gone. This blog will die for a while and maybe it'll come around again... til then. |

its that time again
when school work just seems to grow and grow like the beanstalk
when the training pitch looks like the end of a battlezone, still
when the eerie silence of dawn makes you hate the idea of getting into the shower
when friends are always there but not there too at the same time
when family refuge also fails
when television becomes your drug
when the bedroom is nothing without the wondrous bed
when the boys are yucky and the girls are ugly
and
when season is comin'......

will own
| the worst week of my life thus far. not good at all. waking up early to catch live football can be satisfying, but worsely, its painful and unhealthy. focussing in class and lectures became difficult, and even harder when training. There was no motivation to do work, time was not spent in the most meaningful ways. Drama Feste was supposed to be the highlight of the week, but since the show went on without any intervals whatsoever, it became quite laborious to watch. the match yesterday was another show of inconsistency. and champions league that morning, how could roy carroll allow that kind of shot to bounce so clumsily off him? the only solace, 3B will own...soon |

im a fool
| Chang Wen was in top form dude. 3 goals against the J4s. Good shit i must say. I want the partnership to continue man, we have shown Mr Low what we can do together so I hope his vision clears up to see what is best for the team should not be tempered with. Anyway, yesterday was stupid stupid stupid in the afternoon. I was in the train and called my sister to tell me that I'm on the way home. She asked me whether I brought my home keys, coz she was going out. I just said yes without checking. I was already walking home when I realised I think I hadn't brought my home keys with me. There was nobody at home anymore! Therefore i have noway to unlock the door. Shit stinks. So I sat at the void decks (where else can mats go?) and read the entire Straits Times (my first time this year!). I still had 2 hours left before my bro returned from some carnival shit. So I went back to West Mall and walked around the entire building like 3 times, stopping to watch gamers at E-zone and reading that Olympic Book. haha. I still had 1 hour to burn. So I watched Closer alone. Natalie Portman, for once, shed more clothes than a sheep could shed its wool. Hahahahaha. The plot was quite twisted not that nice i must say. I saw Shiying at the MRT station after taht. Then my mum called and tell me to get home. So after I reached home, i unpacked my bag and underneath all that pile of dirty laundry, i found one black leather wallet. My keys! I had actually brought them in my bag. Ass! |

some people...
Some people live for the fortune Some people live just for the fame Some people live for the power, yeah Some people live just to play the game Some people think that the physical things define what’s within And I been there before but that life’s a bore, so full of the superficial |
X marks the spot
surely.
but i dunno what it is.
there is nothing to look forward to anymore.
everything's a bore.
routine kills. there is no spice.
what future is there?
i see little hope.
no amount of effort can take me away.
so i need to fly.

Man Utd 2-0 Man City
| I woke up at 11am for the third day running. I finally found my RJC RUGBY 2004 black t-shirt that has been hiding in my closet for quite a long time, so i wore it at home today. Yay but it's so tight. I wonder what Iylia means when he puts 'triple digit bench' as his nick on msn, hahaha i wonder :) actually I know but nvm. I have done almost all the homework that I had planned to do, so I guess it does not feel so bad. And I have replaced most of the stationery I lost along with my pencil case. So that's a plus point. I think my cable tv is useless to a large extent, especially on weekends. Sat nites, what do most guys do? Football on the tele right? Yes of course. However, you can only watch EPL football if you subscribe to SCV, and more specifically to ESPN Star Sports. The problem is, I have the SCV box at home and it's fully functioning. Heck, I don't even have to pay for it coz my uncle got it free of charge when he upgraded his set for the digital tv scheme (F.O.C that's the only reason why i have that cable tv at home, coz if we have to pay, that thing will never be in my house). It's free for only six months though, after that it's optional whether you want to prolong subscription or terminate it completely. So, when it came to choosing which channels we wanted to insert into the free box, I didn't have a chance to say a word at all. The next thing, I came home and gone!, there are no more sports channels. Oh why oh why. I have so many friends who tell me that the only reason they subscribe to SCV is because of FOOTBALL telecasts. I have asked and urged my family to subscribe to only the sports channel, but they won't budge. Tonight i went to my grandpa's house just a few blocks away to catch Man Utd overcome Man City 2-0. Haha Glory Glory Man United! OH! I still remember how i woke up one night, when I just got the SCV box in my house from my uncle, thinking it was Liverpool vs Man Utd. Oh man I was so psyched up, a match I couldn't miss. I even set my handphone's alarm on, and my brother's handphone's alarm on too, just in case. I prayed hard before I slept, that God will remind me to wake up on time for the match, and that possible Ronaldo would nick in a goal or two past L'pool. I went to sleep earlier than usual that night. Then I really woke up at 3plus a.m. Feeling all excited, I went straight to the living room, searched for the remote control and repeatedly pressed "23", but to no avail, only to see a blank screen and a sharp tone that you would normally hear when you turned to an untuned channel. Oh hell! Where had my ESPN gone to? Then only i remembered, my cable tv is here because it's free. Free. I was the butt of all jokes from my friends the next day. :) |

lcw
| Okai, so we had another class gathering today. It was better than the one at shiying's house, attendance wise. Haha this time it was at Chang Wen's house, all the way at ulu Pasir Ris. Shoots man, took sucha long time to get home after that. The turnout was better today, haha it was really nice to sit around and chit chat like we did today. Wahaha, stupid dog though...hate it, it caused me to whack Jiawen with my elbow and splash the longan syrup all over my shirt. Shithead. Wtv. Hahaha good fun. |

soccermorning
| Today feels extremely good because I gotta play soccer with Raihan. Oh my God. Raihan is seriously the only super omnipotent WMD around. Its wonderful to get to play with him and of course the other guys... like the people on my side such as Jasmeet and his bro Jasdeed, Siva, Dedi, Chetan, Renji and the amazing dribbler Yasin. He was from the Mendaki camp...oh my such a long time ago. No wonder that mat looked so familiar. Adzfar was playing with us too. The other side was like the old RI - Hatta (former AJC Capt), Nasir (former RJ capt) and Azrul (double title winning VJ capt) and a lot of other people. Yeah, i though we would get raped. BEcause we started 9 against 11. Wth. It turned out quite good in the end, i loved the movement and the style of play. It was dynamic and swift. It was sweeter coz i scored one, and layed off for Siva another. we beat them 3-2 in the end.
Some wonderful things i learnt today "Educated players are just hardworking, they run hard all the time without really thinking, but the mats are smarter when playing, they just know it when to run and when not to, so when they run, it's really effective." Then i thought to myself, haha, correct! Somedays are meant to be spent with doing nothing. Like today. Its meant to be a laze around day. Its not because me and Adzfar were just super lazy. We are most of the time. But the conditions are there for us to just sit around, chit chat and do nothing. That's what we did, he came over to my house today after the match. Oh my. It was wonderful, not gay, but wonderful. Just the 2 of us, the air con, with guava juice and pear bits, and popiah. On the mattress. We talked about a hell lot of things, like manjens, school work, football, orchard, class...etc. Good shit! :) Mats you too shall have this some day soon. Yeah? |

cny eve
I went to Orchard today to watch a movie with my mat brothers, and have lunch with them and Fahyik. What was amazing to me is that there are so many teenagers hanging around in town too! Wow. Okay, isnt today the eve of their biggest most significant day of their lunar calendar? What are they doing in town? What are they supposed to be doing?
In town: to watch a movie, to hang out with friends, to meet up with old friends, to shop? Anything. I guess basically none of the reasons above have got to do with being with their family. I think it's because it's just in the afternoon so they still have time after school to catch up with friends before coming back home for reunion dinner. I think it's also because it's called 'reunion dinner', so the teens purposely go away for a while before reuniting with their family at night for dinner. I think it's because Chinese are very much simple type of people, they don't really decorate their houses with new curtains and tablecloths the way most Malays love to, so they don't have go home to prep up the house. I think it's also because the past week may have been really hectic for these students and today's the only time they can spend time with old pals before dedicating the rest of the week for their family. Some could be cashing in on last minute new year clothes. Having new clothes to celebrate in is something that transcends all cultures, including Malays and Indians, and it should be promoted.
What are they supposed to be doing actually? As in, by tradition? I'm not sure. Actually I don't know. Some of my friends told me that they have reunion lunch. ok, but is it the same as reunion dinner? Oh i also heard that some of my friends play mahjong when visiting relatives. ok, but is money involved? I heard too that some parents keep an account of how much so and so have given their kids last year, so they know how much to give to the kids of that so and so this year. Is this true? Do you yamseng on Chinese New Year? And is it yamseng using beer and liquor? I saw my friend's classmates having a small yu-sheng thingy today, that looked fun when you toss and toss the stuff around. What does it symbolise man? Oh does wearing red means that you can wear anything (e.g: mini skirts, tube tops, spag straps, shorts) as long as they are red?
Just pondering...

monday madness
Winger Robben fears long lay-off Chelsea winger Arjen Robben fears he has broken his foot again and could be out for a long spell. Robben, who missed the first three months of the season with the same injury, was hurt in Chelsea's midweek win over Blackburn. "It is a massive blow," he told the News of the World. "The swelling was so bad the doctor couldn't see the damage, so next week I will go back to hospital. But even now, I feel one of the bones is broken." He added: "I hate it because I know I'm probably out of the game for weeks and weeks." Source: BBC Sport
Thats a mother good news for all Man Utd fans out there. Today we went town for awhile after school. It was madness before that though. 2 of my classmates were "Cartier"-ing around at some HDB flats. They are absolutely mad. One's a seasoned pro. He says its not as nice as some other brand he tried before. The other was a newbie, he was just learning the technique, of how to enjoy the pleasure for as long as he can. My goodness. No matter how many times I have told myself that I come from a good school, clean and seemingly perfect, only God knows what is really going on. People, not just delinquents, even smart people, indulge and get 'strayed' by this kind of things. When it happened today, all I could do was to laugh it out. But actually I was quite speechless I didn't know what to say to anyone, to even myself. Then when we met up with 2 other friends, they were both quite jealous that they didn't get to "Cartier" too. Oh my. The world's topsy turvy now. Apparently it's not a recent fad it's nothing new to them. They have tried it a few times before. I thought only naughty boys would do it. I thought the more educated you are, the less likely you're gonna get involved in this kind of thing. I've heard stories before about how some seniors were constantly partaking in such activities, but never truly believed it. I saw them did it last year, those seniors, but didn't think that some of my classmates would do it too. I guess I'm wrong. Wooot. In town on Monday, that seems like some new trend. You've gotta check out the train leading to Orchard on Monday morning. Really, more and more people are treating MOnday like the new weekend. Its their shopping time, their hangout time, their galivanting time. Us? We just ended lessons early and felt like walking around. I felt like a loser. Wtf was i doing walking in and out of trendy shops and looking at the clothes and accessories? I am poor. I have no money. I feel like a mule. A dork. A bit out of place to see school kids trying out perfumes and stuff like that. It's not as if you're gonna need those perfumes. But that's ok. Sometimes a little indulgence is good. It gives so much satisfaction, and less heartache. Just ask Matin. He fell in love with this sexy sling messenger so he just bought it. Va Va Voom coz its not cheap, its double my weekly allowance. So that just means that i can never afford such goods. Arhhhh :) Shud we just wing it? Hakeem just thought me a new lingo. I'm happier now coz my "goodstuff" just came. Its right in front of me and i can't freaking wait to whack it. Hahaha. That pakcik who sent asked me, "Ubat apa ni?" I just smiled and passed him the money. He smells of mee rebus man. Maybe that's why he's so late. I'm really going to save a bit more money from now on. I've got my sights set on that preppy goodstuff. I will have it InsyaAllah. :) |

viva la holiday
| I just purchased something online. Wahah its fun. Hope i can collect it on Monday. Ohwell. Yesterday we had a game. It was bad. One on ones were not converted and I am guilty of that. Sharpness, finishing, running angles, plus magic. I need all of the above. I will have them... someday... soon.
Yesterday was also meant to be our senior junior class get together. But nvm, nothing was confirmed. Its futile and useless if people dun care. So its alright. We had an alternative. We'd rather much spend some impromptu time like yesterday among ourselves. It was shitty turnout, but in the end, its still good fun. I think the class is much nicer and dare I say it, closer, now, apart from a few lost souls. But its still much better. Just had simple pizza, and then satay and fishballs. Not even a bbq but its still good. Shiying's parents are so accomodating, bought for us everything. Thanks shiying. I think we can have more of this small gatherings. We should change locations everytime. I think Jiawen may open up his house this CNY. That sounds gooodd. Oh the heavenly smell of bak kua and tiger beer. Yeah yum yum... Hahahaha. I am sure. Those aren't halal, but im sure his parents will be just as accomodating...halal food yeah!? Whooosshhh swooooossshshhhhhh~ |

~,~
| today Adz and I went off at around 11 to eat at j8, then we went to pump. hahaha... to the irk of iylia and co. sorryla mat, another time, tmr likely. do until we were sore and tight. ok that sounds wrong. but u know what its like after u pump. then we went back to school. we discussed and discussed for physics spa with kevin and jian hong.. heh that was damn stressful man, but it was worth it. it turned out exactly as planned. good job guys. next time we'll prepare like this again. actually chem spa is tomorrow. i haven't even soaked my dirty training clothes, but i will soon. it feels good to blog again. but today training was king man. the speed ladder drill was madness i think, coz my thighs felt pumped. then we had to do 20 by 20 by 20. that was the most king of all exercises. then he said, we shall cool down with 10 laps. wtf. nvm. just do. shooting was horrendous today, just had no aiming no power no idea what i was going to do with the ball. shooting should be a priority improvement for me, i must get it right day in day out so on the actual day i will have no problems. insyaAllah. chem spa, lu tunggu sekarang wa sudah datang.

respect the ball
| the ball is round, it has many faces. no matter what you can do with it, you must respect it first for it to respect you. respect the ball for it will hit you the hardest when you underestimate it, and it will not forgive you for your error in judgement. the ball will not wait for you. the ball will not chase after you, you will chase after the ball. when the ball is alive, you keep it alive. you earn the respect of the ball when you treasure every ball that you get, and work even harder to get back the ball that you lost. once you earn the respect of the ball, there is an infinite array of skills that you can unleash on your opponent using the ball, or feigning the use of the ball. let the opponent know what it means to earn the respect of the ball. let the ball be your saviour. let the ball be your ticket to your destiny. let the ball be your weapon of mass destrucion. let the ball b all.

the ball lives on
| the team's been a struggle and its still a mammoth hill to climb. down those shakes and build up those fast-twitch muscles. caress the ball like i've never caressed it before. let it float and sail and stick like a magnet to every of my steps. let my lungs run like engine tanks. let speed demons be my assets. let the lion aura evolve through my every move. no matter how disillusioned we sometimes feel, there's still a long way ahead and it's good to start by focussing on one thing at a time. the ball never dies.

selamat hari raya aidiladha~!
| Today is Hari Raya Haji or Hari Raya Aidiladha. Somehow it has lost some of its significance to Muslim Singaporeans, especially youths, who would only see it as just another holiday. It is like a welcome rest, a short one-day off from the hectic pace of school. But that was not the case a few years ago, when any hari raya, not just hari raya aidilfitri, was celebrated with so much anticipation in the days leading up to it, and with a lot of vigour and excitement. Not anymore these days, have people got tired of celebrating? Is it because for kids, we do not get any green packets like we do during Hari Raya Puasa? Is it because we do not visit as many houses as we do during Hari Raya Puasa? So we do not meet as many relatives and friends as we do during Hari Raya Puasa? What is the reason?
I suppose it is inevitable, a result of circumstances. It has got to do with how little time we seem to have nowadays for our family, even though we are merely students who have no other responsibilities, except to get as good an education as we can possibly achieve. It has got to do with us spending more time with friends than our own flesh and blood. It has got to do with us spending more time with the computer than our own flesh and blood. I am typing this because I am feeling like this right now. I do not feel the spirit of celebration. I do not feel the solemnity of the occasion. I do not feel excited by the whole festivity. Why have I become like this? It is completely different when you are in Mecca. It is entirely a different experience when you are performing the Haj. It is truly intoxicating if you are amongst the hundred thousands or so Pilgrims that are now enduring the severity of ordeals beyond comparison on this earth. It is different when you are that much closer to God. My parents have done it once, when I was in Sec 1. There is a unique romance with Mecca, the kind of peacefulness and serenity somewhat engulf you, and your conscience becomes so clear you just love being there. You become even more grateful to your parents for giving birth to you, for bringing you up the way you did, and for always loving you. You love God even more, just for being able to witness the greatness of his creation, that is, life itself. How can you not love it when all these experience surge through your emotions? I personally would like to experience this, sooner rather than later. It is like a getaway, from all the troubles of this planet. You can never understand it, til you experience it yourself. in aceh, at ground zero, the worst hit area during the tsunami disaster, the only recognisable building left standing was the mosque. and so was the case after a ferocious earthquake hit turkey in the late 1990s. so what are you waiting for? choose your religion now. |

aight
| AIGHT!!! Its been very irregular blogging for me these days. Not much of a choice when most of the time I dun even have time to finish up my tutorials. That isnt a good sign of course, it shows how lousy my time management skills are. November may sound so far away, but its not, so of course no matter how much i say i'm not worried, i am worried actually.
School is good so far. The facilities are excellent actually, except for a few things. 1. NO PRAYER ROOM / MALAY ROOM ?!?! What kind of school is that man? So where do we pray? Under staircases, in dusty corners, etc. Give us a damn room, no matter how small!!! 2. Field can't be used til dunno which month. Please man, that forces us to have trainings at Bishan Park, where the pitch is no different from a sandfly breeding ground. If only we can get to play on the lush greens of Bishan Stadium..... 3. Canteen food still sucks. The vendors are lazy, they close at like 2pm. People have training in school, and training won't start til at least 4pm. By that time, if we are hungry, then we'll just have to starve. What a load of shit. Open your stalls a bit longer and you get extra income and no student will starve. Haiiiii Lecture is good too, because i can understand the things they say and don't need to think too hard yet. But haven't lay my hands at the tutorials yet man, its gonna take a while. The new CT is definitely much better than our dearest HPF. Yup, she's more fun and maybe she's better at teaching GP too. Who knows? Just pray for the best man! A whole new team of reps from my class. The 2 amazing choices are Chang Wen as chem rep and Yan Min as GP Rep. Hahahaha yay they are responsible bcoz we have been getting our notes! The Malay population in RJ J1 Batch is quite large. 29 People or so. But come to think of it, their percentage is smaller than my batch, bcoz their batch happen to be dragon babies. Aight. So far we had quite a fun outing last Saturday at Kopi's house, simple barbecue followed by charades then watching the Singapore-Indonesia match live on TV. Shiok la, thought that most of them enjoyed themselves. We would prob plan for more of such gatherings. Yay keep it tight Mats/Minahs! Woohoohoo I'm 18 and i'm free to club/purchase cigarettes/M18 movies?etc... Yeah right, as if i'm gonna do those things.... :) |

*rrup[h]!!
| what has orientation done to me in 1 week:
-skipped dinners like nobody's business -talking to people without actually being able to connect what i say to what is in my mind -hallucinate while walking -falling asleep while reading my mails -GOING ONLINE TO PRINT AND SORT DETAILS OUT AT PAST MIDNITE EVERYNITE -high high high handphone usage -lost my voice each day after regaining it the just the morning when i wake up -skipped training as though i have no nationals to play for -skipped classes as though i have no A levels to do at year's end -walked kilometres in one day just moving from council room to hall and back and forth and back and ... -danced a lot and willing to dance even more -spent all my hari raya money on anything that required money in orientation -climbed so many steps of stairs in school as though i'm a mountain climber -get phonecalls from my mum at 9plus pm and being given the "so-are-you-sleeping-in-school-is-it?" sarcastic remarks -having a friend who fainted one day coz she was simply sick and over-exhausted and over-worked for orientation :( -using the home just like a hotel, to shower and sleep and get changed -using my dad like a chauffeur to send me to school so early when he could have had more sleep -drooping eyebags -and best of all, i have no regrets whatsoever... |
